Old Fashioned Children’s Games

Now and then – kids still love to play so-called “old fashioned games”. They are great for birthday parties and don’t involve much organization or money. Kids nowadays spent too much time in front of the TV, computer or playing games on their cell phones. If you give them the opportunity, they will enjoy playing old fashioned games or sing old time campfire songs around the camp fire, without the need for technology.

The book “Old Fashioned Children's Games” is a book every modern family should own. It covers over 200 games, songs and card games from “the olden days” that were popular then and will be just as popular with your youngsters. Remember “Farmer in the Dell”, “Kick the Can”, or “King of the Mountain”? Or how about “Run Sheep Run” or “Slap Jack and Old Maid”?

Are your kids sitting in the backseats of the car watching a DVD or playing on their gameboy? How about some good old fashioned car trip crazy songs or contests? The whole family can join in and have fun together. Kids interact socially when playing these games (instead of sitting by themselves in front of a screen), which in turn encourages togetherness.

In my opinion, the Old Fashioned Children's Games is a wonderful book. It is a fantastic collection of good old fashioned outside games, card games, singing games, campfire songs/games and party games everybody – old and young – can enjoy.
